Where to find the right idea for my SaaS?

  1. @levelsio recently shared his opinion which I like

    1. That a wrong idea, when evolved for a few iterations can become the right idea

    2. The right idea stays the right idea for a certain amount of time, then it has to evolve again.

  2. “Action produces information. Just keep doing stuff.” is a good mantra as well.

  3. The reason is, with each iteration we discard the things that don't work, so after 10 - 15 tries, what happens by virtue is we end up with ideas that work.

  4. This tweet from @charlestehio hits the point well, which is to

Ship small, ship fast, and ship a lot - @charlestehio

Making your first $ online

  1. @nico_jeannen has a good tweet that talks about this.

    1. The idea he shares is to leverage the credibility of a free app/tool that solves a real problem. The free tool can then be shared on directories, app listings, product hunts, app sumo, etc. Give solutions to the problems your customers are facing, keep the scope small, and validate it with payments.

    2. I love the above approach because sharing directories helps with long-term traffic from SEO. Also building free tools and talking with early customers opens up new ways to understand their problems. If solved effectively and validated with payments is a sure-shot way to make your first bucks online.

How to grow your newsletter, learning from the pros

  1. @marc_louvion shares on how we went from 0 → 10K readers in 5 months.

    1. He decided to ask for a reply in the first welcome mail to make sure, the upcoming emails land right in the inbox

    2. He made sure to focus on one topic for each weekly newsletter.

    3. All his newsletters are high-signal. His readers love that and is short enough to finish in a few minutes.
